Policy Development

The Office of Internet Freedom develops and implements internet freedom initiatives that provide journalists and citizens around the world, where governments censor or surveil internet activities, with appropriate tools and services required to safely access or share online information without fear of repression.

OIF coordinates and works with BBG’s five networks and other stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate internet freedom initiatives. These initiatives strengthen BBG’s ability to provide appropriate and effective anti-censorship tools and services to its networks, increasing safe access and sharing of online news and other information.

Stakeholders include relevant U.S. federal government agencies, think tanks, the private sector and other organizations.
