BBG networks provided extensive coverage of the recent 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University in California’s tech-centric Silicon Valley, where more than 700 entrepreneurs and investors from 170 countries gathered for three days of talks, workshops, mentoring, networking and pitch competitions.  President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry participated in the summit.

Al Finch is a senior consultant to the BBG’s Office of Security, which oversees the security of the agency’s offices and bureaus overseas. Equipped with four decades in law enforcement, including four years as the Director of Security for the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, he was hired by BBG in 2014 to oversee implementation of the U.S. government’s Insider Threat Program (ITP). The program is designed to protect the agency’s facilities, journalists and other employees from attacks and potential threats from foreign intelligence, while also safeguarding press freedoms.
