Radio Sawa wins gold in the New York festivals

(Springfield, Va.) — As security forces confronted supporters of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, Radio Sawa covered the deadly clashes which occurred in Egypt and led to the ousting of President Morsi on July 3, 2013.  Radio Sawa’s coverage of the clashes between Morsi’s supporters and opponents in Egypt’s public squares won the Gold Award in the category of Best Coverage of a Breaking News Story in the 2014 New York Festivals Radio Program Awards recognizing the World’s Best Radio Programs.
