VOA’s Studio 7 program, which broadcasts to Zimbabwe in English, Shona and Ndebele, organized a week-long training for its stringers in the region. Training took place October 6–10, 2010 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Journalists across the Democratic Republic of Congo learnt about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in a series of workshops organized by VOA’s French-to-Africa Service. The workshops included a mix of information about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in DRC, along with practical information about covering health issues. The workshops were supported the U.S. Department of State through its embassy in Kinshasa.
