The Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) announced today that on Monday, July 11, Radio Martí will begin broadcasting the nationally recognized radio program “Dra. Isabel” hosted by Cuban-born psychologist and best-selling author Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassols, known to listeners as “The Angel of the Radio.”

Cuban government responds to water shortage after citizens call Radio Martí

Radio Martí has long been reporting on a drinkable water shortage that has affected residents in the town of Boca de Jaruco in Mayabeque Province, Cuba. Many listeners aired complaints about the situation to Martí and said they had been trying for weeks to get the government to resolve the problem. Radio Martí learned from one caller to its “Cuba al Dia” program that the government started providing potable water to affected residents due to the complaints that aired and because the residents sent a letter to government officials citing their concerns.
