BBG Calls for Agency Restructuring

In a resolution, the board condemned the purposeful interference with broadcast transmissions as a threat to human rights and internationally recognized rights to freedom of information and expression. The resolution called on delegates to the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference in Geneva and the satellite industry to “repudiate this illegal behavior.”

The BBG also approved resolutions, offered by Governor Victor Ashe, honoring VOA’s 70th anniversary along with the 70th anniversary of broadcasts in Cantonese and Mandarin by what is now VOA’s China Branch. Read More
