More than 150 Journalists participated in three, two-day workshops in Nigeria's three leading cities. The workshops focused on providing reporters and editors with information about avian influenza.
Journalists learned how to educate people about avian influenza, preventing transmissions to humans and its impact on the economy. Nigerian and U.S. health and agriculture officials participated in the training, along with leading journalists.
The VOA/IBB partnered with Internews in Abuja and Development Communications Network in Lagos.
