Some 30 editorial staffers of Radio/TV Rwanda, the state broadcaster, participated in a week-long training that included sessions on broadcast management and basic journalism training.
Dr. Sam Swan of the University of Tennessee led sessions on broadcast management, which looked at the duties and functions of managers, management teams, the organizational structure of radio stations and promotions and marketing.
William Torrey of the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) conducted sessions on broadcast writing, news gathering, interviewing and feature writing.
