Uzbek Service Investigates Company Owned by President's Daughter

In February, the Uzbek Service broadcast the fruits of its lengthy investigation of the Abu Sahiy company, which is owned by President Karimov’s youngest daughter, Lola Tillyaeva-Karimova. Abu Sahiy controls the majority of Uzbek imports, particularly consumer goods, clothing, and electrical appliances from China. The Uzbek Service was the first media outlet report this story. The Service first confirmed that Abu Sahiy belongs to Karimov’s family and then proved allegations that Abu Sahiy had improperly become a monopolist by offering below-market prices.
