- Goran Gavrilov General Manager of Kanal 77 was beaten violently outside his home in Stip, Macedonia on the night of January 25, 2008. The attack appears to have been triggered by his work on new broadcasting legislation. He was hospitalized for several days given the severity of the assault. Kanal 77 is an important affiliate both of VOA and RFE/RL in providing reliable news and information across its radio network.
