Sen. Lugar Talks about Syria and Egypt in an Interview on Alhurra

Alhurra’s Congressional Correspondent Rana Abtar spoke with Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) on June. 12th. During the interview Sen. Lugar stated that the countries of the world out to give greater support to the U.N. and to each other. He went on to say the U.S. should work with other nations, when it comes to Syria, to give humanitarian relief and hope to the Syrian people. Sen. Lugar also stated the best case scenario is for the Syrian government to reform and change its policies so that it is more inclusive.

When discussing the Egyptian presidential election, Sen. Lugar noted that the constitution still needs to be established and that he was hopeful that all of the parties understand what lies ahead and that the nation is depending on leadership that is much more farsighted.
